Burnett Livestock and Realty - Scholarship

In 2009, we inaugurated the Burnett Livestock & Realty Academic Scholarship.

The Scholarship has been designed to support a worthy student of second year and beyond in Agricultural Science, Agribusiness, Applied Science or Rural Business Management from the Wide Bay Burnett.

In 2009 Lance Whitaker, Director of Burnett Livestock & Realty, said that “I’ve always felt that it is important to give back to the district that supports our business and one of the most effective ways we can do this is by investing in the youth of the district to obtain superior qualifications and encourage them to return and work in the Wide Bay Burnett”.

The recipient of the 2009 scholarship was Nathaniel Brown. Nathaniel was the very grateful recipient of $3000 toward the cost of his tuition at the Australian Agricultural College Emerald Campus. Following the awarding of the first scholarship a partnership was set up with The University of Queensland – Gatton Campus to provide the scholarship at $3000 per year for three years until 2012.

To be eligible for the scholarship the student must be from the Wide Bay Burnett region and demonstrate a commitment to achievement in their study at The University of Queensland – Gatton Campus.

Applications for the 2011 Burnett Livestock & Realty Scholarship close in late March 2011.
